The ICTON Demo Zone offers live demonstrations of research projects and proof-of-concept implementations spanning a diverse range of fields related to the applications of optical technologies in telecommunications.
Demonstrations take place in dedicated booth and are are specifically designed to engage small groups, fostering an interactive setting that encourages real-time exchanges between attendants and presenters. The presentations are dynamic and responsive, following an on-demand model that allows attendees to experience the demonstrations at their convenience. The flexibility extends to the incorporation of both on-site and remote equipment. The demonstrations may include elements such as recorded videos or live connections to remote hardware and experiments, further enriching the overall experience for those in attendance.
Demo Proposal Submission
Proposals for demonstrations must be submitted via email, are limited to four pages following the same template as regular papers but must include the following:
Abstract
An Overview section providing a thorough description of the research and the demonstrated technologies.
An Innovation section outlining the issue and the uniqueness of the showcased work.
A Demo content & implementation section explicitly detailing: (i) the goals and setup of the demonstration, (ii) the physical arrangement of the demonstration, including a description of the equipment to be utilized; (iii) the method of presentation to the attendees, and (iv) the ways in which attendees can interact with the demonstration (an integral aspect for enhancing engagement during the session).
A Conclusions section summarizing the main contributions and results obtained from the development of the exhibited demo submission.
